Maintenance methods for storage shelves

　　1. Moisture and rust prevention

　　Apply protective paint regularly to reduce rusting. Ensure timely ventilation and prevent excessive humidity in the warehouse. Although the shelf pillars and crossbeams are both metal products and have baked paint on their surfaces, they may rust over time after being exposed to moisture and sun, which can affect their service life. If the shelves are made of wooden boards, the area near the window edge is most susceptible to rain, and after rain, the wooden boards will deform and curl up. Therefore, regular drainage and dehumidification should be carried out.

　　2. Collision protection

　　Installing anti-collision pillars plays a very important role in protecting shelf pillars. The most vulnerable parts of the shelves are the pillars in the passages and corners, which are usually deformed due to forklift collisions. A set of anti-collision pillars should be equipped according to different shelves, channel widths, and transportation tools. Install anti-collision guardrails at the channel location. In addition, daily inspections should be carried out, and any loose screws should be fixed in a timely manner.

　　3. Anti heavy pressure

　　Shelves of different specifications are designed and made according to their load-bearing capacity. Therefore, the weight of the goods placed on the shelves must be within the weight that the shelves can bear. It is best for warehouse clerks to put weight and load limit labels on the shelves. We should follow the principle of placing heavy items at the bottom and light items at the top of the shelves, that is, placing heavy items at the bottom and light items at the top.
